Ding dong the witch is dead!

At the Daily Mail there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth at the ministerial demise of their darling, Suella Braverman.

The owners of Britain’s biggest-selling paper,  the Rothermere family, first supported Oswald Mosely and his Blackshirts, then Mussolini, then Adolf Hitler and more recently, Boris Johnson and then Liz Truss. Braverman was the Mail’s latest extreme right figurehead.

Do the readers of the Mail, who buy it because it is cheap and a  very light-weight read, being designed to entertain, rather than inform, know of its appalling political pedigree?

For the past few weeks, the Mail  has been singing the praises of Suella Braverman  and warning that Rishi Sunack would regret it if he sacked her, because the right wing of the Tory Party would sack him in turn.

As a marcher for a ceasefire in Gaza, I have been vilified by Braverman as a hate-marcher and a hate-thug. And yet it was she who brought out the rightwing hoodlums and football thugs on Armistice Day. Hence even Sunack called a halt to her shenanigans by sacking her.

11th November saw 800,000  marchers on London’s streets demanding a halt to the killing in Gaza.

Still our callous political leaders ignore the will of the people and allow themselves to be led by the USA and Netanyahu.

They support Israel right or wrong. Any criticism of Israel they fatuously label as anti-Semitic.

We know what motivates the Labour leadership. They have been bought by the Israeli embassy and wealthy pro-Israel lobbyists. They have sold their souls and have forfeited the right to govern. Starmer should resign as Leader.

On the several demonstrations over recent weeks I have seen thousands of placards and heard thousands of shouted slogans. Not one could be considered anti-semitic, unless, of course, you so define any criticism of Israel.
