Keir Starmer and his cronies are full of backbone when it comes to chucking out left-wingers from the Labor Party, But he is no more than a wet lettuce leaf when it comes to framing policies that might deserve voters’ support.

He is content to endorse continuation of Tory policies, hoping to win the 2024 general election by virtue of the Tories losing.

Housing

Having reneged on all his other policy promises, he will probably also dump the 2019 manifest pledge to stop Thatcher’s disastrous Right to Buy, which is at the root of our present housing crisis, having lost us 2.7 million council homes since 1980.

Renting

If you are renting out property you are reaping where you have not sown.

Buy to rent should be stopped.

Rent control should be introduced

No fault eviction should be stopped.

Local authorities should have strong powers to inspect rented properties and to impose repair and improvement orders.
